"Billy the Exterminator," wife arrested on drug charges

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - A&E reality show star and Louisiana native Billy Bretherton has been busted, along with his wife, for possession of synthetic marijuana.

According to Bossier City police, officers responded to a 911 hang up call on April 28 from a room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

When officers arrived at the room, they made contact with William and Mary Bretherton of Benton, Louisiana and found suspected synthetic marijuana and a device commonly used to smoke narcotics.

Police say they took custody of the suspected marijuana for testing at the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab in Shreveport.

According to Bossier City spokesperson Mark Natale, the police department was notified last week that the substance came back positive from the crime lab as synthetic marijuana.

Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for both on misdemeanor  charges of possession of schedule I of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The couple was contacted by police about the warrants and the two came to the police department on June 1 and turned themselves in.

Both bonded out of the Bossier City Jail later that same day.

Each had a total bond of $6,000 ($5,000 each for the possession of schedule 1 cds charge and $1000 each for the possession of drug paraphernalia charge).

Bretherton is currently preparing to shoot season 5 of his reality show, Billy the Exterminator.
