SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum brought his campaign to two churches in Shreveport- Bossier on Sunday.

Santorum's first stop was First Baptist Church in Bossier City. KSLA News 12 was not allowed inside that service. Shortly after, Santorum visited Calvary Baptist Church in South Shreveport. During his speech there, Santorum took aim at abortion, an issue he has been very vocal about during his time in the US Senate. Santorum gave the congregation a very graphic explanation on partial birth abortion.

"The doctor takes his hand and then takes the baby with the other hand, puts scissors at the base of the baby's skull, and suctions out the baby's brains, and kills it," said Rick Santorum

After Santorum left the area for another stop down in Baton Rouge members of the congregation told KSLA News 12 their thoughts on what he had to say. "I really thought he'd give a testimony, but he really preached. He touched all of our hearts," said Floy Alexander. "I felt like he spoke from his heart today," said Richard Paul. "I felt the compassion he had for life when he was talking today," said Mickie Smith

Even though many say they liked what they heard, they're still undecided on whether they will vote for Santorum. "We've got to see what's out there and what they're going to do about jobs, middle class citizens. We've just got to see," said Smith

The candidate was not made available to the local media while he was in town, but KSLA News 12 was able to reach him on the phone, where he reiterated his stance on deregulation. "I have said on day one I would repeal every high-cost regulation that the president has put in place. He has set a record on the cost to the economy, over one hundred million dollars a year."

Also high on his list, said Santorum, the repeal of so-called 'Obamacare.'

Santorum's visit to the ArkLaTex came less than a week before the Louisiana Republican Primary.
