New suit filed over unfinished Hwy 3132

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport attorney has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a coalition fighting to get a section of Highway 3132 finished.

It's the latest development in a long-running battle over the completion of the so-called "Loop."

Attorney John Settle, Jr. filed the public records lawsuit in Caddo 1st Judicial District Court on behalf of the Finish 3132 Coalition, naming the North Louisiana Council of Governments (NLCOG) and it's director as defendants.

The suit demands that the NLCOG produce records under the Louisiana Public Records Act the Coalition believes is important in determining what went wrong with the proposed extension of LA HWY 3132 to the Port - specifically, the route intended to traverse the 16 acre tract purchased by the City on Flournoy Lucas Road.

The suit seeks a court order requiring production of the records and attorneys fees and costs.

A hearing is set before Caddo District Judge Roy Brun for February 6th.
