Suspect pleads guilty to kidnapping, killing SW AR store clerk
SEVIER CO., AR (KSLA) - A 25-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he pled guilty to murdering a SW Arkansas store clerk.
Thursday morning, Cody Shane Griffin pled guilty to capital murder, kidnapping and robbery in connection with the death of Horatio clerk 19-year-old Wendy Zapata Hernandez.
Back on September 15, Griffin went into a Dish Network retail store, robbed the place and kidnapped Hernandez.
Griffin was later found walking down a county road wearing only his boxer shorts. He eventually led police to Hernandez's car. Her body was found in the trunk.
