Buddy Roemer to announce presidential candidacy

Former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer told a packed house of supporters this weekend that he intends to make a formal announcement this month in New Hampshire about his intentions to run for President.
Roemer, the Shreveport native, announced the news Saturday to a crowd of 200 family members and supporters at the Bossier Civic Center. In the rally titled Welcome Home Buddy Rally, Roemer says that New Hampshire is "key to his victory" in his Republican bid for the White House in 2012.
Roemer had previously announced the formation of an exploratory committee in March.
