FOUKE, AR (KSLA) - Miller County investigators believe racist graffiti spray painted on a small church in Fouke Arkansas is a hate crime and they have notified the FBI.
The church has been defaced several times over the past few weeks with the n-word and even swastikas.
Doug Frost is the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.
He says the images that have deface his church for the third time in two weeks are disturbing, but he still invites the culprits to attend a service.
"If you'll come to church and listen to the word of god. Maybe you might get saved and change your mind about the racist... and that's what it's all about the racism.
New Hope's membership is predominately white, and authorities believe that the graffiti is the work of someone upset over a new black member now attending.
"It looks like this is going to be a hate crime," said Miller County Detective, Stephen Ward.
Local authorities welcome the FBI's help, but they say some leads are already pointing to someone local, and someone young.
"I believe it's going to be someone that's older, that may be in the high school range to an adult, late teens or early adulthood," said Ward.
"If you're doing this because it's a hate thing, God loves you anyway," said Pastor Frost.
So far no arrests have been made in the case.
