Caddo church volunteer face kidnapping/rape charges

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) – The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office reportedly arrested a Shreveport church volunteer Friday for alleged kidnapping and rape.

34-year-old Robert Washington Jr., was arrested by deputies after a 15-year-old male victim reported the crime to deputies.

According to deputies, the alleged incident happened back on March 1st.

Reportedly, the victim was walking to school when Washington allegedly pulled up side the victim in a church van for New Beginnings Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church and offered the victim a ride. Upon arriving to school, deputies say the victim told them that Washington pulled out a gun and kept driving.

Next, deputies say Washington allegedly drove the victim to the church, which is located in the 100 block of Flournoy Lucas Rd., in Caddo Parish and took him into the pastor's study and allegedly demanded sex.

Caddo deputies say that after the alleged assault, Washington drove the teen back to school.

Washington is currently in the Caddo Correctional Center, facing a charge of aggravated kidnapping and rape.
