The New Orleans Saints hope to have star running back Alvin Kamara and the whole gang back for their opening-round playoff contest against the Chicago Bears in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday, Jan. 10.
The Saints are coming off a 52-point explosion against the Minnesota Vikings but there were still a few throws Brees would like to have back. Despite those miscues, No. 9 did become the first player in NFL history to reach 80,000 yards through the air.
Former LSU star running back and now Kansas City rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire will miss the remainder of the regular season with hopes that he can return for the playoffs, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Saints’ offense was out of step most of the day, not getting a first down until the second quarter. The wide receivers also had difficulty separating from the Chiefs’ defenders, leaving Drew Brees with no targets.
Today was the first home game where Saints fans were allowed inside the dome. While fans say they were the deciding factor in the win, dome coordinators say everything behind the scenes ran seamlessly.
