Andrew Brightman

Meteorologist - KSLA
Shreveport, La.
Andrew Brightman

Andrew Brightman joined KSLA News 12 as a meteorologist in August of 2019.

Andrew comes to KSLA from our sister station in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he worked as the morning meteorologist, then the evening meteorologist.

During his time in Wyoming, Andrew got to cover essentially every type of weather imaginable. From blizzards that dropped 15" of snow to triple digit heat, tornado outbreaks, and even hail that was the size of a grapefruit, Andrew has seen it all. One notable exception is tropical weather, something he's very excited to use his meteorological skills to track.

Andrew first graduated from Emerson College with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2014. After deciding to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a meteorologist, Andrew returned to school and acquired a degree in meteorology from Penn State University in 2017.

Andrew loves sports; football season is his favorite season of the year. While he grew up in Philadelphia, for the most part, Andrew is a New England sports fan. Sadly, that does include being a fan of the New England Patriots.

Andrew loves the outdoors and looks forward to getting explore the ArkLaTex (send food recommendations). He's also a golfer and looks forward to hitting the links when the temperatures don't nearly melt his clubs.
