1 dead, 2 hurt in shooting at Shreveport motel; victim identified
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Two people were hurt and one was killed in a shooting early Tuesday morning (July 29) at a motel in Shreveport.
The Shreveport Police Department says it happened just before 1 a.m. on the 400 block of Pete Harris Drive between Lawrence and Travis streets at the Session Levingston Motel.

A man and a woman were shot during the incident. Another woman was injured by broken glass when she crashed her car into a utility pole, police say.
One of the women and the man were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. They were both in critical condition, police say. The woman has since died, police officials confirm. The other woman who was injured by glass went to the hospital in a personal car.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Sherita Layton, 38, of the 1800 block of Saint John Street in Shreveport.
The person(s) responsible for the shooting have not been identified at this time.
