Senior Focus: Solving disputes at long-term care facilities

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Every day, families make the tough decision to place a loved one in a long-term care facility.

Sometimes the facility isn’t one that is handpicked by them but one that is chosen by their insurance company.

So whom do they turn to when there’s a problem?

Joining KSLA in the KSLA Café on Thursday (Oct. 26) to shed some light on this topic was Casandra Cesare, ombudsman manager for the Caddo Council on Aging.

She discussed how she helps solve problems and can serve as a mediator between the patient and the long-term care facility.
