BODYCAM: Saints receiver Chris Olave arrested in Kenner on allegation of reckless driving
KENNER, La. (WVUE) - Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested Monday night (Oct. 23), and booked by Kenner Police with reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
Kenner PD spokesman Capt. Michael Cunningham said Olave was booked for allegedly driving 70 mph in a 35-mph zone in the 1700 block of Joe Yenni Boulevard.
Police say he was recklessly maneuvering in a black Dodge Charger between lanes and around other drivers on the road.
Police released bodycam video of his arrest on Tuesday.
A Saints spokesman said the team was “aware” of the arrest, but had no further comment.
Olave, a second-year player out of Ohio State, leads the Saints in receptions (39), receiving yards (471) and targets (68) through the first seven games of the 3-4 Saints.
Olave was released from jail around 11:30 p.m.
Kenner police say this is the second recent speeding ticket for the receiver. He was ticketed on Aug. 21 for driving 54 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 2300 block of Vintage Boulevard.
