Man dies from injuries after drive-by shooting; coroner releases name
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A man died after being shot while standing at an intersection in the St. Vincent neighborhood.
On Sept. 24 at 3:40 a.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting reported at Dudley Street at Southern Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered that a man was standing at the intersection when a dark-colored vehicle drove by and someone inside started shooting.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died from his wounds at 4:08 a.m.
The Caddo Parish coroner’s office released his name at 12:40 p.m.
Leviticus S. Washington, 22, of Shreveport, was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.
His death marks the 64th homicide of the year for Caddo Parish and the 59th for Shreveport.
This is an ongoing investigation.
