Deputies with CPSO were dispatched to Rusty Drive in Blanchard at 7:30 p.m. for a report of assault and battery, according to Caddo Parish Dispatch.
CPSO deputies discovered that earlier in the day Jeremy Small, of the 3600 block of Rusty Road, and his live-in girlfriend got into an argument and he became violent.

CPSO brought a hostage negotiation team onto the site alongside Caddo Fire District 1. During the stand-off, some of the close by areas were evacuated for safety reasons.
Just after 10 p.m., after several hours of negotiations, Small released his hostage, and soon after he gave himself up.
During the stand-off, CPSO was able to obtain warrants for his arrest.
According to officials, the suspect will be charged with one count of domestic abuse with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic aggravated assault and one count of false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon.
CPSO Captain Bobby Harris tells us that more charges may also come up due to things found during a search warrant execution. Harris also says its possible drug use may be part of the reason for the incident.
The woman victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene, her son was unharmed.
