SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A 61-year-old man was shot while driving down eastbound Interstate 20 in Shreveport.

It happened at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 near Monkhouse Drive, Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

The driver was taken to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment of gunshot wounds to his left hand and right forearm, authorities confirmed.

The man told police that he heard gunshots and that his driver’s side window was shot out, according to the major incident report.

He also told police that he had no confrontation with anyone prior to the shooting.

Police briefly shut down eastbound Interstate 20 then reopened travel to one lane as they investigated the shooting. The interstate has since been reopened.

Police had at least seven units on the scene. At one point, the Fire Department had dispatched five units to the same location.
