SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Longtime Shreveport community leader, Bishop Lawrence Brandon, is headed to California.
Brandon has preached in the area for nearly 31 years. He’s moving to preach at a church in his hometown of Oakland. The bishop posted about the move on Facebook:
He says he will still visit Shreveport often because of the many organizations he runs with his wife.
”I will definitely be a phone call away. Like I said, I am in and out. Of course if there is pressing matters and issues that requires my attention, I will be here,” said Brandon. “But in most part, I will be physically in Oakland, California. But again, overseeing doing my part and I’m going to be back and forth cause we have our North Louisiana Community Development Corporation, the Brandon Transition Cooperation for Boys that I’m still overseeing. I have oversight, we have had acquisition, we’re creating homeowners. We’re building homes for those who want to realize the American dream and so we have a subdivision to develop, so I am here.”
Brandon says he starts his new position in Sept. at Evergreen Baptist Church. He says his wife and campus pastors will be preaching on Sundays.
