1 killed, 2 injured in Clyde Fant crash
One is under arrest for allegedly stealing the crashed vehicle, according to SPD.
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Two people are recovering after a crash that left one person dead.
The Caddo coroner’s office has identified the deceased as 17-year-old John Anderson, of Shreveport.
He was was traveling with two other teens at a high rate of speed on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway when their vehicle left the road and struck a tree around the 1000 block of River Walk Boulevard, the coroner’s office reports.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
Police officers got the call just after 2 a.m. Thursday, June 16 to Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway near the Fant Parkway Service Road and River Walk Apartments.
At the scene, police said three people were inside the car at the time of the crash.
Before the wreck, an officer on duty witnessed the car traveling at a high rate of speed, going south on the roadway. Moments later, they discovered the crash site.
Traffic is flowing but down to one lane. Police said the ages of the male occupants are teens to early 20s. One is under arrest for allegedly stealing the crashed vehicle, according to SPD.
The crash remains under investigation.
