SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — Shreveport police are investigating a double shooting at the intersection of Jewella Avenue and W 70th Street.

Police say three vehicle were involved in a shootout. When police got on scene, they found a juvenile male dead in the backseat of a gray vehicle. He was later identified as Ja’tyon Dillard, 15.

Another person was wounded and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no one has been arrested in connection with the double shooting. Police say an automatic rifle was used.

Caddo 911 dispatch records show the call initially came in as a report of gunfire at 9:55 p.m. Monday, June 6. A minute later, five Shreveport Fire Department units responded to a medical emergency at that location. Police, at one point, had at least 21 units on the scene.
