SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good morning and happy Friday! As we close out the week and head into your Easter weekend we are tracking rising temperatures and humidity this afternoon out ahead of scattered showers and storms on the way over the holiday weekend. Temperatures this afternoon won’t feel nearly as fresh outside as dew points begin to rise for the region. That will lead into an unsettled weekend where isolated showers today will be more widespread during the day Saturday with a couple of storms possibly on the stronger side. Easter Sunday we are tracking more of the same before a cold front moves through leading to a much cooler and comfortable start to next week.

So if you have to head out the door this morning on this Good Friday make sure you dress comfortably as we are tracking temperatures and humidity that will be noticeably higher compared to Thursday. Highs this afternoon will be in the low 80s and while the humidity won’t be overwhelming, you will notice it. Also, we are tracking increasing clouds through the day with the potential for an isolated shower or storm as well.

Heading into your Easter Weekend the rain and storm chances will only be on the rise for the ArkLaTex. On Saturday we are tracking scattered showers and storms throughout the day to go along with more warm temperatures with highs in the mid-80s. There is the potential for a couple of these storms to be on the stronger side, but the severe potential is nothing like what we had earlier this week. Easter Sunday will have more of the same with perhaps slightly cooler temperatures, and the front that will be moving through the region later in the day bringing drier weather heading into next week.

Looking ahead to next week we are tracking cooler temperatures, less humidity, and drier weather compared to what we saw over the weekend. Monday and Tuesday look to be much cooler and sunnier with highs in the lower 70s and no humidity to speak of. As we get to the middle of the week we are tracking another front moving towards the region that will likely push our rain chances up Wednesday. Behind a warm front and possible showers we are tracking 80s and more mugginess for the second half of next week.

In the meantime, prepare for some potentially soggy Easter Egg hunts. Have a great holiday weekend!
