Free shredding event set for April 9 in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Need a few things shredded and disposed of?
The AARP Louisiana Fraud Watch Network and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office will host a free shredding event in April.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 9 at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required so organizers can prepare accordingly.
Attendees can bring unwanted documents containing sensitive information and have them destroyed on-site by a professional shredding company. And there’s no need to get out of the car.
Each car is limited to three bags/boxes. Suggested items include old tax documents, canceled or unused checks, credit cards, medical bills, investment account statements, and other items containing sensitive information.
