ArkLaTex father, daughter release children’s book, land spot on Amazon best sellers list

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Shreveport father and daughter are coauthors of a book that has landed on one of Amazon’s bestseller lists.

The duo authored Kennedy and the Dollar, a book that teaches children the importance of giving.

The book currently stands at #7 on Amazon’s bestsellers list in the category of Black & African American Christian Fiction. Clutch Williams took on the project with his daughter, 13-year-old Kennedy. She went on to say the book is a happy story.

“It [the book] teaches more kids to be more giving,” Clutch said.

Clutch echoed when you do good things, good things come back to you.

He went on to add that he wanted to influence children to read because of the impact it had on his life.

Clutch told his daughter to prepare herself that the book may not be successful since this was their first writing project, however, Kennedy and the Dollar debuted #1 on Amazon in the week of new releases.

The pair wrote the book and provided the illustrations.

Clutch promoted the book on Facebook, but he says the support from his hometown of Mansfield is one reason why the book has been so successful.
