NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - Northwestern State University’s Food Pantry needs your help.
However, instead of food items, the pantry is in “dire” need of personal hygiene items. To encourage donations, students are pitting Marcus Jones, president of NSU, against Reatha Cox, dean of students, for a memorable competition.
Whoever brings in the most donations, wins. Whoever loses — will kiss a pig.
The contest is being dubbed the ‘Kiss a Pig for the Pantry’ fundraiser. Donors can specify who they would like to donate on behalf of - either Jones or Cox.

Online donations close at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 14. The kissing of the pig will occur the next day at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, in the Food Pantry parking lot.
According to NSU, the Food Pantry was created by students after noticing their peers struggling with food insecurity.
