SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - An early morning crash has closed a busy roadway in Shreveport on Friday morning.

Police got the call just after 6 a.m. to E. Flournoy Lucas (La. Hwy. 523) near the terminus for Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

Officers say that the big rig overcorrected and the driver received minor injuries.

The truck was hauling a silica sand product and oil. Crews were called, including the Department of Environment, for clean-up efforts and a tow for the truck.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.
