2 people fighting for their lives after 2 separate shootings in less than an hour in Shreveport
Male shot in torso on Lillian Street; female with shoulder wound is 1 of 2 people shot on East Dudley
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — Two people were left fighting for their lives as a result of two separate shootings Monday night in Shreveport.
A male (age unavailable) was rushed to a Shreveport hospital in life-threatening condition after he was shot at least once in his torso while he was in the porch area of a house on Lillian Street just off Portland Avenue, said a police spokesman on the scene.
“It wasn’t a drive-by. They stood there and shot him.”
Officers found at least seven shell casings.
Caddo 911 dispatch records show that call came in at 7:24 p.m. Four SFD units and 2 SPD units initially responded. Those numbers soon grew to five and 10, respectively. Then the police presence grew to more than 13 units.
It was 6:37 p.m. when first responders were summoned to the 200 block of East Dudley Drive, which is off Gilbert Drive, according to dispatch records.
That’s where a male and a female were wounded. Shreveport Police Department officials say the man was shot in the thigh, while the woman was hit in the shoulder. According to officials, a dark-colored sedan with three to four Black men wearing blue masks and black hoodies inside pulled up and started shooting.
The major incident report indicates it happened on East Dudley between Alexander and Cornwell avenues.
Authorities described the gunshot wound to the female’s left shoulder as life-threatening. The male suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh, the police report shows.
After being shot, he managed to drive less than 100 yards south to Fern Avenue at Gregg Street. That’s where medics picked him up then took him to a hospital.
There’s been no indication as to whether the two shootings are related.
