CPSO investigating fatal crash on Dixie Blanchard Road

CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - Caddo Parish deputies responded to a wreck in the 5100 block of Dixie Blanchard Road (Highway 173) just before 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 23.

“Two vehicles hit a fallen tree this morning near Blanchard, resulting in one fatality,” said Sheriff Steve Prator.

A Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Blanchard Road when the driver hit a large tree that had fallen across the road. Immediately afterward, a northbound vehicle also hit the tree.

The man driving the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver has minor injuries.

Both lanes of the roadway were temporarily closed while the crash was investigated by the Caddo Sheriff’s Patrol Division and the tree was removed by the state highway department.
