CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the person whose body was found in the Red River in Caddo Parish on Wednesday, May 5.

Tommie Shane Weeks, 41, of Benton, was positively identified through fingerprint and dental records comparison. An autopsy has been ordered.

An employee of the Joe D. Waggoner Lock & Dam, No. 5 reported seeing a body in the Red River near a brushy, turbulent area around 8:45 a.m. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms the body was found around 9:30 a.m. off Highway 1 near Lock and Dam 5 on the Red River.

Caddo Sheriff’s deputies, marine unit, and detectives, along with Bossier Parish Sheriff’s deputies, responded to the scene. A body was recovered, but no further information regarding the body was available at the time.
