SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Fans from across the state gathered on Saturday, April 17, for the 47th annual Bayou Classic game.
The event was one of the largest gatherings in the Shreveport area since the pandemic began in March 2020.
While the Bayou Classic game may be over, many events are still going strong. This includes the Party on the Red at Festival Plaza.
As many people celebrate with live music and food, they say it feels good to be out despite COVID-19.
Many officers are out keeping everyone safe and patrolling the streets. Derrick McCleary is working at Festival Plaza and says safety and security are a top priority.
”We got everybody out here, fire marshals, everybody is working as a team. So everybody out is safe. We trying to keep everybody content and safe,” said McCleary.
