1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Mooretown neighborhood

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport police responded to the scene of a shooting on Friday, April 2, just after 10 p.m.

The incident occurred in the 6200 block of Singletary Street in the Mooretown neighborhood.

Officers arrived on scene to find a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She told police that her friend had also been shot.

Police located a man down the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated. Her injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary investigation shows that the two victims, both in their 50s, were walking down the road when a dark-colored sedan drove by. A person inside the vehicle fired multiple shots that hit both victims.

The investigation is ongoing.
