SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The Caddo coroner’s office has identified the victim in the Interstate 20 shooting as 30-year-old Eric Young, of Irving, Texas.

Shreveport police responded to a shots fired call just after 4 a.m. Saturday on I-20 near the Jewella Avenue overpass.

According to Caddo 911 dispatch records, as many as 16 units were on the scene at one time.

Police have confirmed that Young was shot multiple times by someone in another vehicle while driving westbound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westbound I-20 between Hearne Avenue and Jewella Avenue was closed down for hours while police gathered evidence at the scene.

All lanes of the interstate have since been reopened.
