Shreveport homicide suspect arrested in Bossier

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that claimed one man’s life and wounded another man.

Dontreal Damon Quayce York, 19, of Haughton, is being held in Caddo Correctional Center on one count each of second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, booking records show. His bond has been set at $250,000 on the charge of second-degree murder.

York was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Jan. 29 and booked into Shreveport City Jail at 9:47 p.m. the same date, booking records show. He then was transferred to Caddo Correctional, where he was booked at 8:01 p.m. Jan. 30.

Shreveport police detectives arrested York in Bossier Parish with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force and the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, police Sgt. Glen Heckard said.

York is accused of shooting 23-year-old Nicholas Toms and Jacob Decamp, age unavailable, at a residence in the 3000 block of Lindholm Street in Shreveport on the evening of Jan. 19.

Toms and Decamp were taken to Ochsner LSU Health, the Shreveport hospital where Toms died at 11:33 a.m. Jan. 23. Decamp remains in stable condition, authorities said.

Detectives have said that their preliminary investigation suggests that there was an altercation over a gun deal and that the purchasers allegedly shot the two sellers.
