SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Emergency crews responded to a wreck involving an 18-wheeler Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 on I-220 W at I-20 in Shreveport.
The Shreveport Police Department and Fire Department responded. The 18-wheeler appears to have flipped onto its side, blocking I-220 W where the loop becomes LA 3132 at I-20. Traffic is being diverted onto I-20 W. The 18-wheeler has spilled some of its sand mixture related to oil and natural gas drilling.
The left lane of I-220 W reopened around 9:15 a.m. The entire interstate was reopened around noon.
Louisiana State Police Troop G will be handling the investigation. SFD remains on scene of monitor the spill. SPD is handling the direction of traffic.
SPD officials say the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
