SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good morning and happy Wednesday! While we are dealing with a few isolated showers this morning we are generally expecting pleasant weather for the ArkLaTex today. While we are tracking a cold front to move through the region Thursday afternoon we are not much if any rain to accompany the front. Your weekend forecast is looking dry and mostly sunny. In reality its not until Tuesday of next week that we are watching any significant chances of rain or thunderstorms to move through the region.
In the meantime, as you are getting ready to head out the door this morning you will need the jacket again, but you won’t need to layer up nearly as much. Temperatures this morning are down in the 30s but they will be moving up to right around the 60 degree mark this afternoon. While we are watching a couple of showers across parts of the region early this morning we are expecting sunshine to settle in during the mid-morning hours.
As we go through the rest of the work week and head into the weekend we are tracking some subtle changes on the way. We are expecting a cold front to push through the region Thursday afternoon, but we are not expecting any rainfall with this front. Behind the front we are expecting high temperatures to drop back down into the 50s for Friday and Saturday. While we could see a widespread freeze across the ArkLaTex early Saturday or Sunday morning, temperatures will quickly start to rebound Sunday afternoon.
Looking ahead to an early preview of next week temperatures will continue to move up into the 60s Monday with a decent amount of sunshine. Our next chance for a major weather maker appears to be on Tuesday when a stronger area of low pressure will be developing and moving through the region during the afternoon hours. While heavy rain is possible severe weather does not look likely at this point.
So while you need to jacket again this morning more comfortable weather is on the way this afternoon. Have a great Wednesday!
