SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Good morning and happy Tuesday! After picking up over 3 inches of snow in Shreveport late Sunday we saw temperatures in the 40s Monday quickly melt the fresh snow cover. But as you are waking up this morning we are seeing widespread frost and freezing temperatures around the ArkLaTex. But while temperatures are cold this morning we are expecting them to rebound quickly as we go through the day. Temperatures will continue to rebound Wednesday and Thursday before our next cold front arrives just in time for the weekend. You should expect generally dry weather over weekend to go along with some chilly temperatures.

So as you are getting to ready to head out the door this morning make sure you are layered up as temperatures are down in the 20s this morning. Due to the snow we saw yesterday we are dealing with widespread frost across the region. but after sunrise we are expecting temperatures to quickly rise as we go through the day. High temperatures this afternoon will reach back up into the low 50s for most of us. Overnight tonight we are expect a very weak disturbance to move through that could bring us an isolated shower overnight.

As we go through the rest of the work week we are tracking warming temperatures and generally drier weather ahead for the region. High temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will be moving up into the mid 50s and into eventually into the 60s before our next cold front arrives. Late Thursday night and early Friday is we are tracking a cold front that will be rolling through the ArkLaTex. This front will be dropping our temperatures down into the low to mid 50s Friday, but this front will not be bringing much or any precipitation to the region.

Looking ahead to your weekend we are expecting much sunshine along with chilly temperatures for the region. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 50s with a decent amount of sunshine. Sunday will probably bring us more cloud cover with the outside chance of a light shower.

In the meantime make sure you bundle up big time this morning! Have a great Tuesday!
