BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A second staffer in Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office has tested positive for COVID-19 in less than two weeks, the governor’s office announced Monday, Jan. 11.

Officials say the COVID-19 positive staff member did not have any close contact with Gov. Edwards and is isolating at home, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

On Jan. 4, the governor’s office announced another staffer tested positive for COVID-19 over the New Year’s Holiday. That staffer and two other employees, who had close contact, also quarantined.
