SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - On Thursday, Jan. 8, officials announced SNAP benefits would be increasing for the first six months of 2021.

However, a local veteran says he received a lot more than he expected.

Ronnell Storie says he checked his account to find over $1,800, a big increase from his usual $16 a month.

It didn’t take long for Storie to communicate with the SNAP office in Austin, Texas, but he says he has been given no clear direction on how to proceed as of yet.
