Marcus Freeman interviews for LSU defensive coordinator position

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU beat Ohio State in the Louisiana Superdome 13 years ago to the day on Thursday, Jan. 7, to secure the program’s third national title.
On the field for the Buckeyes that night was a junior linebacker wearing No. 1. He had 13 tackles and one forced fumble. It was Marcus Freeman, who has been the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Cincinnati Bearcats for the past four seasons.

Freeman wrapped up a two-day interview process Thursday with LSU head coach Ed Orgeron for the Tigers’ vacant defensive coordinator position. The 34-year-old Ohio native is one of the hottest names in coaching circles right now and reportedly has multiple suitors, including Notre Dame.
He has reportedly flown back to Cincinnati and will make a decision very soon.
