BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) — Bossier public school officials and city and parish authorities are investigating threats of gun violence at Airline High.
Patrols have been increased in the area of the Bossier City campus in the wake of the Snapchat posts.
And authorities are attempting to track down the source of the threats.
Bossier School District issued the following statement:
“The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office and Bossier City Police determined early in the investigation the social media post referencing Airline High School was made from an account under an assumed name. This remains an active investigation and law enforcement is working diligently to track down the culprit.
“Bossier Schools takes all threats seriously, whether perceived as credible or not, but at this point in the investigation there is no evidence this threat is valid.
“We understand parents are concerned, and rest assured student safety is our number one priority, which is why extra security measures have been taken and additional law enforcement has been present on and around campus so the school day is not disrupted.”
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
