NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints defense made quite a statement in their final regular season performance, racking up five interceptions. A dominant offense by the Black and Gold, facilitated the defensive thievery.

“It’s a team thing. Our offense put up enough points to make it one dimensional. When your offense is one dimensional, you have opportunities to make plays on the football. We had multiple guys come in and contribute. To see that production from the young guys is very encouraging. It speaks to the depth that we have. Speaks to the coaching staff, and how we have young guys prepared. In a game that we needed, so it was exciting,” said safety Malcolm Jenkins.

Now the focus turns to the playoffs, and winning a Super Bowl title. Jenkins was on the 2009 title team, so he knows what it takes to bring home the hardware.

“With all the context that surrounds the playoffs and the game, you just got to really stay focused. One week at a time. Do what you got to do to prepare to win one game. It’s going to be a lot about playoffs past, and the history. But all that matters is what is right in front of us, and that’s the first playoff game,” said Jenkins.

The Saints are 9.5-point favorites over the Bears on Sunday. It’s the biggest spread of “Super Wild Card Weekend.”
