SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Staff at the Health Center at The Oaks of Louisiana received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, Dec. 30.
The vaccine was available for all of the workers and many lined up to take it.
“I think people are understanding that in order to get past this, we’re going to have to get the vaccine and get it on board,” said COO Kevin Fuhrman.

Around 30 workers received the vaccine, including Danica Bartholomew, assistant director of nursing.
“We have to get on top of this curve with this pandemic some kind of way, and I trust the pharmaceutical companies and what they’re doing to help protect us and our future families,” said Bartholomew.
Jessica Bryant, RN supervisor, had some advice for those who may have fears when it comes to getting the vaccine.
“I initially had those fears, and I would say do your research, ask around. But I feel blessed to be able to be part of this revolution, so to speak,” said Bryant, “I say go for it.”
