SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The 2020 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl has been canceled.
News of the decision was released the evening of Sunday, Dec. 20.
The game was to have been played Saturday, Dec. 26, with kickoff at 6 p.m.
It would have featured the Army West Point Black Knights and a representative of the Pac-12 Conference, but there was a shortage of teams willing to play in bowl games, according to the official announcement of the cancellation.
Army West Point released the following statement after the cancellation was announced:
The Black Knights are fresh off a victory that brought the 170-pound Commander-in-Chief Trophy home to West Point.
The announcement of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl cancellation includes no information about ticket refunds.
“We are going to meet as a staff tomorrow to discuss the different refund options, but it will be very similar to what you have seen from colleges across the country this year with possible rollover options for 2020 and ranging to full refund,” spokesman Erik Evenson told KSLA News 12 on Sunday, Dec. 20.
