SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The city of Shreveport has a new City Judge.
Today was the runoff from the November 3 election. In the race for Shreveport City Judge, the runoff was between Emily Merckle and Edward Mouton. In complete but unofficial results, Merckle won with 62% of the vote to Mouton’s 38%.
The unofficial turnout for the race was 10.5%.
Statewide, voters gave a resounding no to a Constitutional Amendment to allow out-of-state members to serve on the University Board of Supervisors. With 96% of the state’s precinct’s reporting, the proposal was failing with 77% of the vote.
