SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department has named a man they believe responsible for shooting a hotel worker earlier this week.
Police are searching for 22-year-old Alfred Bell Jr. He faces a count of attempted second-degree murder.
Officers were called just before 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 to the 2100 block of Greenwood Road to the Travelodge Hotel regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old female employee with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was sent to a Shreveport hospital where her injury was considered life-threatening.
At this time, she is still continuing her recovery.
Homicide and crime scene investigators responded to the hotel. Crews gathered evidence and spoke to witnesses.
According to SPD, the victim was checking a room thought to be vacant when she encountered Bell. Allegedly, following an exchange of words, he pulled out a gun and shot her once. He then fled on foot.
Authorities now have a warrant for his arrest. His bond is set at $500,000.
