Gov. Edwards declares state of emergency

State's response to Tropical Storm Sally

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Governor John Bel Edwards has declared a State of Emergency in advance of Tropical Storm Sally.

In a Twitter post on the Governor’s account, Edwards says the tropical storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane that could impact Louisiana on Monday morning.

Edwards says while they don’t know where Sally will make landfall, parts of southwest Louisiana are currently in the storm’s cone and are at risk of getting strong winds.
