2 arrested in connection with shooting, injuring 5 people on Plank Road

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge police say they have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that hospitalized five people Sunday, May 10 on Plank Road.

Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. said officers have arrested Desmond Rogers, 17, and Javonta Broden, 18, both from Baton Rouge, on five counts attempted first-degree murder.

Rogers was arrested May 12 and Broden was arrested May 13 were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Police say the shooting happened at Carlin’s Food Mart in the 2900 block of Plank Road around 3:15 p.m. May 10.

McKneely said as of May 14, four of the five victims had been released from the hospital.
