Victim named in W. Shreveport shooting

Suspects lured victim to the scene before shooting

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has named the victim in a west Shreveport shooting. JaDerris Montrell Taylor’s body was found by a motorist Feb. 25, in the 90 00 block of Shrevepark Drive.

The 18-year-old had been shot several times.

Traveon Cannon, 20 and Kasey Howard, 21 were arrested for his murder.

Detectives believe Cannon and Howard lured Taylor to the area, with the intent to kill him. They were able to locate and arrest both suspects during the night.

Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of second degree murder.


An autopsy has been ordered through Ochsner LSU Health hospital.

The shooting remains under investigation.
