House fire displaces Shreveport family of 5

Fire causes moderate to heavy damage to Shreveport residence

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — Fire has caused moderate to heavy damage to a Shreveport residence.

It happened at 4:43 p.m. at East Herndon Street at Rex Street, Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

The heaviest damage was to the attic and the back of the house.

Firefighters had the fire under control by 5:26 p.m.

No one was home when the fire broke out.

But the damage rendered the dwelling unlivable for the five people who live there, authorities said.

Shreveport Fire Department had a dozen units on the scene. They were accompanied by two police units.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
