SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Two ‘The Good Stuff’ reports from 2018 are part of a national Edward R. Murrow Award recently given to KSLA News 12.
The honor, which is among the most respected journalism awards in the world, recognizes KSLA News 12’s multimedia coverage of important local stories last year, such as Louisiana’s budget crisis, reporting on violent crime statistics in the city, and two segments from “The Good Stuff.”
“An Angel to All” and “What Can Brown Do for Spencer,” both by KSLA News 12′s Doug Warner, are a part of that submission.
“An Angel to All” profiles a young Shreveport athlete named Jamie who finds out she’s been selected to participate in the U.S. Special Olympics. A promotional video created for social media platforms, in advance of the segment’s airing, was part of the KSLA News 12 submission.
“What Can Brown Do for Spencer” profiles a young man named Spencer and his incredible fascination for UPS. The Instagram posting of the entire report also was part of this station’s multimedia submission.
KSLA News 12 will travel to New York City to accept the award in October.
