SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Eight ArkLaTex veterans set off Monday morning for Anchorage, Alaska.

The Golden Age Games, features more 1,000 veteran athletes from across the U.S., competing in 21 Olympic style events.

The games take place June 5 through June 10.

While the veterans have their eyes set on medals, at the end of the day it’s all about camaraderie and helping veterans stay healthy and active in their golden years.
