SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Lady Techsters (44-14), the Conference USA regular season and tournament champions, lost 3-0 against Big 12 foe Texas Tech (39-14) Friday, May 17 in Tiger Park.
LA Tech will now face Monmouth Saturday, May 18 for a chance to remain alive in the tournament.
This was Louisiana Tech’s second NCAA Regional appearance in the past three years and its 11th appearance in the softball program’s history.
The Lady Techsters left for Baton Rouge on Wednesday, three weeks to the day since a deadly EF-3 tornado tore up the university’s campus and the city of Ruston.
LA Tech has put together an 8-1 record, including a 5-game win streak, since the April 25th tornado.
LA Tech and Texas Tech were joined in Baton Rouge Regional’s four-team field by the hosts LSU Tigers (40-16) and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion Monmouth (36-16).
