Sarah Kozar, 25

ATHENS, LA (KSLA) - After a teacher’s arrest for her alleged sexual relationship with a student, the school has released a statement.

Sarah E. Kozar, 25, was arrested following an investigation by the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s office. She faces two counts of prohibited sexual conduct between a teacher and student.

She is no longer employed by the school, according to a statement from Mt. Olive’s Principal, Nathan Jump:

We are shocked and saddened by the investigation into and the arrest of one of our former teachers, Ms. Sarah Kozar. Our goal in moving forward is to ensure the safety our students and to make sure that law enforcement has everything they need from us for their investigation. We at Mt. Olive Christian School take the health, safety and personal/spiritual welfare of our students extremely seriously and have taken additional steps to ensure that we are there for our students and their families. As this is an ongoing investigation involving former Mt. Olive students, we will not be able to comment further about the case or the parties involved.

According to Claiborne Sheriff Ken Bailey the alleged incident happened in April 2018.
